An exciting night was had by all at the 2017 Daroo Business Awards with guest speaker and Executive Director of Regional Development for the NSW Government, Ms Jane Spring, inspiring the 240 guests with stories of her past, overcoming adversity and also providing advice on growing regional businesses.

With a record 175 finalists vying for this years titles, the competition was fierce with voting the closest on record including one category where only one vote separated the three top finalists.

The major winners of the evening were the team from Molong’s SPAR Supermarket which were awarded the Best Business in Cabonne.

The team from YBM Accountants & Business Advisors in Molong continued their winning ways after being recognised with major awards in 2015 and 2016, with Belinda Thurtell named the Employee of the Year.

The Apprentice/ Trainee of the Year Award was awarded to Tara Walker from the Cudal Community Children’s Centre while the winners of the newest category in the Daroo Awards, Business Fostering Disability Inclusion, were Fencing 1.
