Kaylah Hayward, who is expecting her sixth baby in four weeks, contacted the Central Western Daily concerned the ongoing mould problems in her house were making her children sick despite repeated attempts to remove it.
The family has been reduced to sleeping in one of the home’s four bedrooms and the living room because the other rooms are affected by mould.
A week after the CWD’s initial inquiry, Ms Hayward said the property was inspected on Thursday as promised and a plumber arrived on Friday.
But she said the plumber confirmed it was not a plumbing problem and she had not heard anything since.
“They didn’t say what’s going to be done,” she said.
Previous inspections indicated the problem might be linked to insulation.
“I’m starting to get nervous because there’s four weeks to go before the baby comes and I’m worried about bringing the baby back home,” Ms Hayward said.
A Family and Community Services spokeswoman re-emphasised the department took the health and wellbeing of its tenants seriously.
“The tenant was advised by FACS [on Thursday] that her application to relocate was approved and she will be transferred to another property as soon as it becomes available,” she said.
She said work in the bathroom would start next week.
