Orange Netball Association is thriving with more than 2000 participants in during the 2017 season, but ask the president of Dubbo’s equivalent, and she’ll tell you Thursday’s visit will definitely help boost interest levels in the colour city.
It’ll certainly do that in Dubbo.
A huge number of fans and young players turned out at Taronga Western Plains Zoo in Dubbo and then Sir Neville Howse Stadium in Orange to meet and take countless photos with the Suncorp Super Netball side.
“It just adds more and promotes such a healthy outlook on life and for kids here to see what they can aspire to if they have the lifestyle and work hard, I think that’s great,” she said.
Weekes was also delighted to say there were a number of adult fans, as well as all the youngsters, who were lining up for autographs and photos with the stars.
“I think there will be a fair few Swifts fans after today,” she added.
“The Swifts girls have been fantastic and have just shown so much interest in what’s going on so it’s all been great.”
