This years Daroo Business Awards will again provide the chance to be inspired with Ms Jane Spring named as this years guest speaker. Ms Spring is the Executive Director of Regional Development for the NSW Government with responsibility for small business engagement and industry, investment and export services.

Jane has held positions at the Department of Industry with Regional Development, Jobs for NSW and Industry Development and Business Services, and is the Department’s Disability Champion.

Jane has been widely recognised for her services towards rowing, wheelchair basketball and disabled athletes, along with the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games. She has received numerous awards from the NSW and Commonwealth Governments along with Sydney University where she holds the title of Honorary Fellow of the University.

An extremely talented rower she has won the NSW Champion Lightweight Scull twice, the Australian Lightweight Double Sculling championship and was named Sydney University Women’s Sports Association Sportswoman of the Year.

A terrible car accident saw her hospitalised after which Jane established herself as a wheelchair athlete representing NSW in wheelchair basketball twice winning silver at the National Championships.

The opportunity to hear Jane speak about her experiences and about her role in regional development is certainly one not to be missed.
