While they are focused on next year’s European Open in Sweden, Orange’s Pete Brus admitted it’s tough for him and father Dean to not look further ahead to the 2019 WA1500 PPC World Championship now they know it won’t just be in Australia, it’ll be in NSW too.

Bowral will host the 2019 world championship, which the father-son duo had already bookmarked as a potential last hurrah together in Australian colours – if they earn the gig, of course.
But knowing if they can they’ll have the chance to shoot together on the world stage in their home state, well, that’s a pretty big motivating factor.
“It adds a touch more motivation, yeah,” Pete laughed.
“We shot as the Australian team at worlds in 2015 but didn’t get the chance this year, so we were already looking to the 2019 worlds as a chance to shoot together again at that level because it was in Australia, potentially as a last hurrah for dad at that level.
“Now we know it’s in NSW, it is a massive motivator and it does make it tougher not to look further ahead but we know we need to focus on getting the Australian guernsey for Sweden next year, then we can worry about anything after that.
“It certainly makes us hungrier to get there though.”
