A Mazda Bravo was stolen from the Orange Railway Station car park between 4pm and 10pm on Thursday.
It was later found alight at the Gosling Creek Reserve at 10.30pm on Thursday.
Meanwhile, at 12.05am on Friday, a Toyota Tarago was discovered alight 10 kilometres out of Orange on the Mitchell Highway.
It was found off the road near Broken Shaft Creek.
Canobolas Local Area Command duty officer Inspector Linda Bradbury said police were investigating the circumstances of how the Toyota came to be at the location.
Inspector Bradbury said residents needed to ensure their cars were secured to reduce the risk of theft as it was an “opportunistic crime”.
People with information about the torched cars or who may be responsible can contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
