This years theme is "Dreams Thrive Here" and serves to illustrate how credit unions and other financial cooperatives serve their local communities to make personal and professional dreams a reality.
The day recognises the credit union movement's history and aims not only to promote its achievements but also share member experiences. The day of worldwide festivities includes fundraisers, open houses, contests, picnics and parades.
To help recognise the annual event, Orange Credit Union is hosting celebrations on Thursday October 19th. The ultimate goal is to raise awareness about the great work that the credit union is doing around the Orange region and give members the opportunity to get more engaged.

Founded in 1964 by local workers, the Orange Credit Union has grown from just 19 members and now serves the financial needs of over 13,000 locals.
As a mutual organisation, Orange Credit Union is owned and controlled by its members which means profits aren't generated for private investors and all members play an important role in the direction of the organisation.
As a member-owned credit union, we give back to the community who supports us.
- General Manager Paul McNamara
