Kicking off from midday at the North Court on March Street, there will be music, food, live performances, art and a focus on youth mental health.
To mark Mental Health Month in October, headspace Orange will join celebrations.
“Orange Masala has a particular focus on youth mental health and headspace Orange has arranged a number of free activities designed to promote mental wellbeing,” headspace Orange program director Alison Logan said.
“We have hand massages, we’re giving away second hand books, flowers and are encouraging community members to write a message to put in a helium balloon and let go.”
Activities will draw on dance, song and food from India, Nepal, Indonesia, Pakistan, China and Thailand.
“There will be Henna hand painting, calligraphy, Tai Chi and Yoga. We’re really pushing to create a relaxing environment for community members,” Ms Logan said.
“It’s a chance for people to try things they may not normally try and learn new ways to wind down, and look after themselves and their mental wellbeing.”
The event is a collaboration between Orange CultureHub, Community Connect NSW, Orange Youth Arts Festival, headspace and Orange City Council.
“It’s a unique opportunity to celebrate the richness and diversity of cultures that make up our community, and is significant for the cultural engagement, awareness and wellbeing it provides our youth,” Youth Arts Festival creative director Vince Lovecchio said.
