Despite jumping ship on religion, we don't let religious differences get between us

As rates of religion in Australia drop, a new Ipsoss poll has shown nearly two in three Australians think religion does more harm than good.

However, more than 80 per cent of people are comfortable with people of a different religion of their own, and only one in eight of us lose respect for someone after finding what their religion is.

In Orange, we pride ourselves on our community feel, and the increasingly diverse people and religions in town is one of our greatest strengths.

While trust in higher levels of religion drops with sexual abuse scandals, the poll shows religion certainly doesn’t divide us.

How’s that for some true community spirit?
