The Panthers National Youth Competition co-captain was named Penrith’s NYC Player of the Year at the 2017 Merv Cartwright Medal on Wednesday, October 4.
The Lithgow Storm junior and former Workie raked in 18 tries and provided 15 try assists in 21 games for the Panthers NYC side this season. He also averaged just over 34 tackles a game.
He also got his first taste of senior footy with five games and four tries for the Panthers Intrust Super Premiership side, which went on to win the State Championship.
Egan leaves the NYC as a member of the 2017 Holden Cup Team of the Year and the first ever under 20s hooker to score four tries in a game.
The future looks promising for Egan after he signed a new two year deal in August keeping him at the Panthers until the end of 2019.
