I WOULD like to thank every one who did vote for me in the Orange council election and apologise to the ones who couldn't find me on the ballot paper.

I was way out in the far right back paddock, so to speak. I even found it hard to find the ones I wanted to vote for below the line. No wonder people voted above the line.
The ballot paper was challenging to say the least. I personally believe the group tickets voting system should be abolished and have only single candidates.
This way, we would have had probably only about 20 or 25 true candidates wanting to be elected in this election, not 88.
I would also like to thank the new candidates who stood. There were a few whom I felt put in a lot of hours promoting themselves and their ticket, but unfortunately didn't get elected.
They were very kind and supportive towards other candidates.
One thing I sincerely hope is that the new councillors who got elected via their ticket won’t forget their other five running mates who helped them get elected.
If it wasn't for the other five in their team helping out and getting their friends, families and workmates to vote above the line some would have not got their quota.
All those votes above the line doesn't necessary mean that the the leader of the group ticket had that many supporters alone: it would of been their other five ticket-mates as well.
Let's hope we have a very proactive and progressive council which will fulfils all their respective campaign promises.
Once again, thank you.
