The other has provided the news, and listed the birth notices, covering Orange for many years.
But, this week the old offices of the Central Western Daily in Kite Street and the maternity wing of the old Orange hospital facing Anson Street, were disappearing forever.
Zauner Constructions began demolishing the old hospital several weeks ago, turning much of the buildings facing Prince Street into rubble.
Now project manager Michael Tarn said it will be the turn of the maternity section to go.
He said it would take about two days to bring it down with the work expected to happen early this week.
Meanwhile in Kite Street there is little but framework left of the old newspaper office after demolition has stepped up in the past week.
It will become the home of Quest Apartments.
