ABOUT 70 camera club members from Narromine to Goulburn attended the Orange Photography Festival on the weekend.

Organised by the Orange Camera Club, the weekend included a photo competition judged by Brian Rope, workshops on everything from making the most of available light to drones and an exhibition at Orange City Gallery.

John McNabb won two categories, nature and monochrome people, after choosing the hobby for his retirement.

“I’m not a sportsman and I have hearing problems and photography is something you can do by yourself or with a group, it’s accessible 24 hours a day,” he said.

Susie McDonnell from Bathurst said she liked the camaraderie.

“I’ve made the best friends through photography.”
