More than 300 guests packed into the Orange Function Centre for the annual fundraiser, dressing in accordance with the ‘Once upon a time’ theme and opening their wallets in support of the ‘home away from home’ for families of those in need of medical treatment in Orange.
Ms Walsh said the figure – which could keep a room at the house open for 507 nights – was a “team effort”, with sponsors, guests, high-quality chefs and entertainment and the house’s volunteers all pitching in.
A pair of video tributes from families who’d stayed at the house particularly struck a chord with ball-goers.
Ms Walsh said the families featured in the videos – from Cobar and Forbes – typified the reality the House’s guests faced upon arrival.
“They need a safe and secure environment,” she said.
