Business is booming at Troy and Annalies Wilson’s Kitchens and Cabinets in Orange and success comes from the husband and wife team’s dedication to some business fundamentals.
It didn't seem like doing business, it was more like friends dropping in to give us a hand.
The pair concentrate on producing top-quality products, clearly communicating, being honest and developing trusted relationships with their clients.
“For us communication is a priority, we are always willing to listen, help and resolve any issues,” Annalies said.
“And honesty is the best policy, I don’t sugar coat things. I am always completely honest with our clients. It really is the only way to operate. Because of that our clients know they can trust us, depend on us, and that’s very important.
“Both Troy and I get great pleasure in providing customers with the kitchen of their dreams. We both enjoy helping them achieve what they want within their budget.”

The couple took the reins of Kitchens and Cabinets two years ago when the previous owners retired.
“Troy had been working with them for 18 years and obviously knew the ropes very well, so it was an ideal time for us to step in and continue with the business,” Annalies said.
To compliment her husband's skills and experience, Annalies became a fully qualified interior designer and offers clients her expertise, ensuring Kitchens and Cabinets is a one-stop-shop.
“I can help clients in terms of layout, design and colour selection, because some people have difficulty visualising things on a large scale,” she said. “We work together to ensure that we get the flow right, in terms of matching the rest of the house and making the work seamless.”
And it is paying off.
“Recently, a client said that doing business with us wasn’t like hiring a tradesperson, because ‘it didn't seem like doing business, it was more like friends dropping in to give us a hand’,” Annalies said.
“That type of feedback is extremely pleasing. It means we are on the right track.”
Though they specialise in new and renovated kitchens, they also do all sorts of joinery work, including vanities, laundries, custom TV units, wardrobes and al fresco areas. They offer a diverse range of products with modern features, and every component is fully customised.
“There are no flat packs or off-the-shelf cabinets,” she said. “We make our kitchens to fit you, not try to use a one-size-fits-all product.”
