Between captain Kaden Williams and Man of the Match Te Riri Maxwell, Bloomfield Tigers under 13s proved too strong for Cowra Magpies in Saturday's Group 10 grand final at Wade Park.
Tigers coach John Hill was delighted to see his side convert their minor premiership into a major trophy.
In the post-game glow of his side's premiership, he paid special tribute to skipper Williams and four-try hero Maxwell, both of whom were pivotal in the five-tries-to-four victory.
"They're very special players, the pair of them," he said, predicting "big futures" in the game for both should they continue on current form lines.
"Te Riri only picked up a ball two years ago and he's scored four tries in a grand final.
"Kaden is the best footballer in his age group this side of the Blue Mountains. He’s almost as good as Jack Wighton was at this age."
The coach's heady wraps on the pair were justified in a game as tight as it was enthralling.
The Magpies scored first courtesy of a try to Jackson McLeish, but moments later Williams produced a length-of-the-field effort which squared the score at 6-all.
Soon after Maxwell scored the first of his quartet to put his side into the lead for the first time.
Maxwell crossed again before the break, but Cowra countered courtesy of Tom Negus and Tyson Williams to make the scoreline 18-16 at the interval.
Soon after the resumption Cowra hit the front again when Dylan Gallagher crossed, but it would be the last time they were in the ascendancy, as Maxwell's second-half double - along with the accurate goal kicking of Max Wilson - secured his side the trophy.
Cowra coach Ken McNamara said his side fought valiantly in the face of Maxwell's destruction.
"He's big and he's quick and we knew that before today," he said of Bloomfield's four-try star.
"The boys tried hard and I couldn't be prouder of them."
McNamara said he believed his side was in with a chance right up until the full-time siren.
"It was back and forth nearly all game and I kept thinking 'if we get eight points in front we'll be hard to beat'," he said.
"A couple of things didn't go our way at the end, so it wasn't to be.
"Full credit to Bloomfield. they played well and they deserve the win."
While his two stars scored all five tries, Hill was adamant the win was achieved by the 17-strong unit.
"We defended as a team, the same way we have all season," he said.
"they have always played for each other and it showed today."
BLOOMFIELD TIGERS 30 (Te Riri Maxwell 4, Kaden Williams tries; Max Wilson 5 goals) def COWRA MAGPIES 22 (Jackson McLeish, Tom Negus, Tyson Williams, Dylan Gallagher tries; Leroy Murray 3, Negus goals)
