Mulberry Lane Vet Hospital owner director Judith Carney was delighted the effort she put in to meet accreditation requirements in the past two to three years has paid off.
She said there are 43 vet hospitals in Australia that have been accredited and, of the nine in NSW, hers is the only one outside of Sydney or Newcastle.
“It’s a real feather in our cap, I was really excited when we got it because we worked hard for it,” Dr Carney said.
She said her old premises would have failed, which inspired her to build the hospital to the strict standards including piped oxygen and having a nurse on standby during operations.
