After 27 rounds of the competition, the minor premiership-winning Tigers faced up to second-placed Victoria Spitfires in the decider.
The Spitfires who had beaten the Tigers 6-4 in the major semi-final, but this time the tables were turned.
The Tigers got a big fright though, when the Spitfires again went to a 4-2 lead in the singles.
The Great Western side rallied in the later stages of the clash though, taking the chocolates by willing all three doubles and the first triples.
It was a worthy grand final with players on both sides throwing championship darts and games going down to the double.
Tigers Dave Whitmore and Ken Kostitch bagged rare 180s along the way, keeping their nerve to land three straight triple 20s.
Dave Whitmore also hit five 100s, two 140s and had 17 and 18-dart games while Ken Kostitch added four 100s and 114 to his 180.
Rob Puckeridge played well for his five 100s and 121, with Mitch Kennewell (3x100) and Barry Wicks (135, 124, 100) getting the other big scores for the title-winning Great Western side.
The Spitfires’ Damien Caughlan (3x100, 140, 121) and John Grevink (3x140, 100) put in a big effort, supported by Will Owers (123), Jess Wiegold (100), Mark Wiegold (101) and Norm Foley.
There’ll be no rest for the division one players because a new 10-round competition kicks off on Wednesday night night before a Christmas-New Year break.
The Tigers will play the Ophir Deviates at the Great Western and the Metro Pilots play the Royal Renegades at the Metro.
In division two the Metro Old Boys play the Royal B52s at the Metro, the Great Western Cowboys play the Metro Barbarians at the Western and the Ophir Nuggets play the Hotel Orange Jokers at the Ophir.
