It’s been an ongoing bug-bear for Central Western Daily columnist Denis Gregory who wrote about the clock’s hands finally being removed leaving its face bare on June 1.
The removal of the parts was an indication something was finally being done.
However, after planning to write in his column this week that it was taking too long to resolve the issue, Mr Gregory found out on Friday that he was behind the times.
Only hours earlier, a shopper in the CBD heard a familiar sound and looked up to discover the clock had just chimed 3pm.
