The boom gates will be closed as a precaution to ensure motorists are not at risk of an accident or being stranded on the mountain overnight.
In a statement released on Friday morning Cabonne Council said their “priority is the safety of road users” and they will “endeavour to open the roads should conditions allow it”.
“However, if snow or ice make conditions dangerous, the boom gates on the access roads will stay closed,” the statement said.
Drivers are reminded it is an offence to drive past a road-closed sign.
