Clients at Western Care Lodge in Orange will be able to relax and socialise in the outdoors when the weather warms up due to the donation of an outdoor table and chairs.
The Rotary Club of Orange donated the outdoor setting to the lodge so it can be used by guests who stay there while undertaking cancer treatment at Orange Cancer Service.
The club raised the money for the setting by raffling off a quilt that was donated by one of the lodge’s guests.
The seating was made by members of the Orange Woodwork Association.
Cancer Care Western fundraising chairwoman Jan Savage said the donation will enable more guests to use the outdoor barbecue area.
“The Rotary Club of Orange has been consistently generous in the support of Western Care Lodge which provides accommodation for regional cancer patients,” Mrs Savage said.
“With a mild winter to date, guests have been using the outdoor area at night for some socialising,” she said.
The lodge was built and is operated by Cancer Care Western NSW.
