THE Mitchell Highway has been re-opened between Orange and Bathurst after Tuesday morning’s fatal accident.
The earlier diversions have been lifted and normal traffic conditions have resumed.
TUESDAY, 12.30PM:
POLICE have confirmed one person has died in a two-vehicle crash on the Mitchell Highway this morning.
A car and truck collided near the Beekeepers Inn at Macquarie Woods about 9am.
Crash investigators remain on the scene and the Mitchell Highway is still shut both directions.
A diversion is in place along the Mid Western Highway and Millthorpe Road.
The diversion is suitable for all vehicles.
TUESDAY, 10.30AM:
ACCORDING to the latest information the diversions are likely to remain in place until approximately 1pm.
Live Traffic is reporting that emergency services and the Crash Investigation Unit has been joined at the scene by local council and RMS officials.
The two-vehicle accident occurred at approximately 9am.
TUESDAY, 9.30AM:
ONE person is reportedly trapped following a crash between a truck and a car on the Mitchell Highway, west of Bathurst.
The Crash Investigation Unit, emergency services and RMS are on the scene of a two-vehicle crash at Macquarie Wood.
The Mitchell Highway has been closed in both directions and drivers are warned to expect delays.
Traffic is being diverted along the Mid Western Highway and Millthorpe Road.
