After 25 years of repairing roads, footpaths and cleaning up the parks in Orange, election candidate Lynn Bocking has a blunt message.

She wants the council to fix the holes in our roads and footpaths and forget about buying real estate, particularly near the airport.

“My platform is roads and footpaths,” the retired council worker said.

“Most of the things we have done on the roads have been band-aids.

“They’ve gone into real estate and not worried about the ratepayers who are wanting better roads and footpaths.”

Mrs Bocking said Orange was littered with yellow and white lines identifying roads and footpaths needing repair but it was not getting done.

“We’ve got more lines around this place than they’ve got at Dubbo zoo.”

She has also called for Summer Street to be freshened, saying it looked old.
