Several chances, actually.
Orange is fielding eight sides at this weekend’s carnival – two in over 35s, over 40s and over 45s and one in over 50s, and over 55s.
“We’ll go pretty well I think,” Gregory said, just before boarding the bus on Friday morning.
“I think we’re hoping we can win a title in a few of the age groups, especially the ones we have team in division one in.”
That happens to be all the age competitions outside over 55s, although there is only one division in that age group.
One of the strongest sides is undeniably the over 35s, which includes NSW and Australian gun Leanne Kennewell.
That side faced Parkes in its opening game of the tournament on Friday afternoon, a central west local derby of sorts.
The over 35s also faced Metro South West on Friday, before games against Sydney East, Northern Sydney Beaches 2 and Newcastle on Saturday. Orange also plays Northern Sydney Beaches 1 and Illawarra South Coast on Sunday.
Friday’s results always play a big role in how the sides will fare. Check Monday’s Central Western Daily for results.
