Benton, who grew up in Orange and now lives in Coffs Harbour, represented Australia at Vietnam’s International Fireworks Festival last month performing in front of 40,000 people and watched by up to 20 million in a live television broadcast.
The event was even more special as his daughters Ella and Arden performed on stage with him and other NSW school students as part of the Yidaki Vibes dance group.
“The trip was unreal,” he said.
Benton said the didgeridoo had some locals confused.
“A lot of people had no idea what it was,” he said.
For the past seven years he has travelled the world performing, meeting celebrities including Princess Mary and Prince Frederik of Denmark, and spreading the sounds of Australia.

He said he taught himself to play the didgeridoo with some help.
“I was taught to cut didges in the bush as well,” he said.
Benton said he hoped to return to Orange to run didgeridoo workshops for students.
