The bowling club’s chairman David Ellis said they had a received a circular from the Ex-Services’ Club asking for expressions of interest in amalgamating.
However, he said the bowling club was not interested in discussing it with them.
Mr Ellis said the bowling club was in a sound financial position and did not need to merge.
Duntryleague Golf Club has agreed to open discussions with the Ex-Services’ Club after receiving the circular.
Clubs have until August 10 to indicate whether they are interested in the amalgamation proposal.
