Canobolas Local Area Command Inspector Linda Bradbury confirmed a Nissan Navara appeared to be travelling north on Lords Place just before 11pm when it crossed to the wrong side of the road.
VIDEO: The dual-cab utility crashes into the garden and hand rail:
It mounted the kerb and hit the garden, stairs and handrail.
“Three occupants were seen to get out of the vehicle and got the car off the garden bed and it’s then driven away,” she said.
VIDEO: The driver removes the car and flees the scene:
However, police found the Navara abandoned halfway between the crash site and the Gardiner Road intersection five minutes later.
