As deputy vice-chancellor Professor Dillon has been a key player in shaping the university. His responsibilities cover a diverse portfolio including information technology, facilities management, marketing and communication, student administration and web strategy.
Professor Dillon is passionate about the student experience leading to individual and collective success.
“Every student has the capacity to make a difference, not only in their personal lives and in their communities but in the quality and breadth of the contributions they make to their chosen professions and to society more generally,” he said.
“In my experience, there have been fewer more satisfying and powerful moments in my professional life than to have witnessed what so many of the university's graduates are doing right now in adding value in their chosen profession in a very wide range of contexts and to the benefit of so many people.”
Professor Dillon began as a lecturer in teacher librarianship with CSU predecessor institution, Riverina College of Advanced Education at Wagga and has since held a broad range of academic and administrative positions, including dean of the faculty of business and of studies.
He was instrumental in establishing international study partnerships for CSU, particularly in IT and business and instituted major changes in key student-facing functions.
CSU thanks Professor Dillon for his great contribution and wishes him well in retirement.
