This week is the final week of competition and Miss Wallace is competing against 23 other women for the Miss World Australia crown in Melbourne.
Her mum Michelle Wallace said it was thanks to support from family, friends and local businesses that $1200 was raised during a fundraiser at Kelly’s Rugby Hotel on Sunday.
That money will go towards Variety – the Children’s Charity.
“Alexandra has always achieved whatever she sets her mind to, she sets her goals and off she goes. I’m proud of what she’s achieved,” Ms Wallace said.
“I’ve always told her studies come first, modelling has helped support her through university financially and travel extensively through out the world.
“Although it’s one of the hungriest ways to see the world, as a catwalk model.
“We’ll be down in Melbourne, my partner, and son Jack will be going down to the crowning ceremony, it’s going to be an interesting event.”
On Tuesday, Miss Wallace completed the interview stage and finished in the top six for the model runway challenge.
The winner will be announced on July 14 at the Grand Hyatt hotel.
