CEO Bruce Buchanan said the old BEC colours “were very 1980s”.
He said their work included helping people with business ideas find a viable and sustainable market.
“We don’t want businesses here today and gone tomorrow,” he said.
Mr Buchanan said a lot of their work also included helping existing small businesses grow and develop strategic plans.
“The whole environment a business operates in can change in months, years or even days,” he said.
BARRY MOVES OUT AND OPENS UP SHOPFRONT
WITH the children all grown up, mortgage broker Barry Swain has moved his business Specialised Mortgage Solutions into Lords Place.
Mr Swain’s business has been home-based for the last 14 years and before that he worked with the Commonwealth Bank.
“I worked from home and was able to look after the kids after school. Now the children have grown up, I’ve moved into a shopfront,” he said.
With his son Dylan helping out during a gap year, Mr Swain hopes to grow the business.
“We look at each individual’s situation, what fits best and then get the best deal from lenders.”
WHAT’S BREWING BETWEEN CARGO AND CUDAL
PIONEER Brewing Co is set to open a farm-based brewery between Cargo and Cudal.
Peter Gerber, a mechanical engineer by trade, will make beer at the site using home-grown grains, barley, wheat and rye.
It is anticipated the brewery will open in Spring and will focus on selling to pubs and liquor outlets within 100 miles.
The South Bowan Park Road site will play host to a range of activities, including brew days and training for bar and sales staff.
PIZZA CAPERS FRANCHISE FOR SALE
ORANGE’S Pizza Capers franchise is for sale.
According to an advertisement at seekbusiness.com.au the asking price is $375,000.
According to the ad there is a “five-year lease and franchise agreement” and “well trained staff” in place.
