A LARGE-capacity conference centre, caravan park and a reduction in councillors could be on the cards if the McRae-Bloomfield ticket is successful at the Orange City Council election.

The team held its launch yesterday, including education consultant Joanne McRae, radio announcer Rod Bloomfield, taxi driver Darryl Curran, radio station manager Tony Healey, dentist Cheng Zhang and chiropractor Alison Bennett.
Ms McRae described the team as independent, motivated and young.

“We will bring an informed, rational team of decision-makers to our council,” she said.
“It’s about doing the research, it’s about doing the reading.”
Mr Bloomfield said he wanted a conference centre and caravan park to attract visitors and jobs.
“At the moment we have 12 councillors, I would certainly like that reduced to 10 councillors, I think that should be up for discussion.”
