A short strip of McNamara Street is finally seeing beautification works to turn the former industrial roadway into an inner-city street.
The wall has been rebuilt and painted, the colourful bike racks are in place, the graffiti has been scrubbed out of the concrete and council this week planted ground cover.
All that remains is some granite covering for the ground and two bench seats.
Work has taken several months including the unusual sight of works starting on a Sunday morning.
Let’s hope all the effort is appreciated by the locals.
