Orange High School capped off the second tie of the 2017 Astley Cup with a dominant 58-23 win, in a match that was highlighted by superb defence and ball movement.

After an enthusiastic start from Dubbo, the Hornets took control of the opening quarter and found themselves in front 21-6 after 10 minutes.
It was one-way traffic from that point onward as OHS’ Barmy Army willed their team to the finish line.
Dubbo failed to get in sync offensively and were continually forced to take difficult shots due to the pressure created by the Hornets defence.
OHS point guard Kobe Mansell played a pivotal role in his team’s win as he was dialed in from the field and dished out plenty of assists.
His presence on the court was powerful, as it was against Bathurst the week before, and it was clear from the outset Dubbo would have a hard time containing him.

Jai Regan had his say in the win too as the dynamic guard found his range from deep and was reliable when driving to the basket.
Although he stole the show at times, Mansell played selflessly and was happy with his side’s overall performance.
“We all played as a team, got together and pulled out the win,” Mansell said.
“Logan Cotter stepped up on defence and offence.”
Mansell was happy with his side’s persistence and how they finished things off.
“We tried to keep it up for the whole game,” he said.
“We wanted to put as many points up as possible and limit their scoring.”
Dubbo guard Ngali Shaw was excellent in a losing side as his continuous hustle uplifted his team’s efficiency from start to finish.
Although the tie had been clinched by Orange’s netball victory, the home school needed as many points as possible.
Mansell and co bumped that winning margin way up to 176.
