Cruisin’ Along fundraising chairperson Jan Savage said the event raised $50,000, which totalled the amounts raised since the first event in 2009.
“We’re certainly very happy with the result. It’s a wonderful effort,” she said.
Funds raised from the event will go to Western Care lodge, which was built by Cancer Care Western NSW, and has been operational for about seven years.
About 4000 people living with cancer stay at the lodge during their treatment.
Mrs Savage said she wanted to maintain the lodge in the standard it was when it opened.
“We’ve been firm on adhering to maintenance so no one feels disadvantaged in any way,” she said.
“It shows people that we care. They’re fighting the biggest fight of their lives.”
