The students, who are part of the Orange PCYC music program performed some of the pieces they have learnt during group lessons run by volunteers this year.
PCYC music coordinator Robin Thompson said about 2000 students have passed through the program and 109 scholarships have been handed out since 2001.
“We average about 100 [music students] every year and we’ve been doing it for 16 years,” Mrs Thompson said.
Mrs Thompson said scholarships for one-on-one lessons at the Orange Regional Conservatorium or with specialist teachers were handed out to proactive students at the concert.
