Chinese trade commissioner Tony Zhang described it as “impressive”.
"In China, Australia has a very good image for high quality, for us our job is to promote NSW products to Chinese consumers,” Mr Zhang said.
“The difference is they control the whole supply process from planting the seed to crushing the oil and packaging the oil for sale for local and the overseas market.”
He said quality was important to foreign consumers.
MSM Milling director Bob Mac Smith said hosting the visit was an opportunity to show the origin of the company’s canola oil.
“Its a fantastic opportunity and enormously important to have two such wonderful commissioners from China and Japan here in terms of world trade,” Mr Mac Smith said.
“It’s a privilege. It’s great to have endorsement from Trade and Investment and the state government that have seen fit to bring people here today to see us.
“I think one of the key things we do here is that we are in the middle of a regional area, we manage to whole supply chain, we deal directly with the farmers, we manage the production process, we manage the transport all the way to our customers overseas and to be able to show the commissioners what we are doing and talk about the provenance.
“It is such an important thing these days where food is coming from; the source of the food, the quality of the food.
“Around the world as people get wealthier and more educated, they are really concerned about what they are putting in their mouths, they want to understand where it is coming from and the quality of the food.”
