After linking with NRL premiers Cronulla over the off-season, the St Joseph’s Sheahan junior looked likely to play a part in the Sharks World Club Challenge campaign only to be omitted from the line-up.
He then missed out on round one selection and has been injured for the bulk of the winter, coming back through the NSW Cup with the Newtown Jets.
But the 28-year-old premiership winning utility has been rewarded for persistence with a place on Cronulla’s bench ahead of a tough clash with the Wests Tigers on Saturday night.
The Sharks are without origin guns Wade Graham, James Maloney, Valentine Holmes, Andrew Fifita and Jack Bird.
Kick-off is at 7.30pm.
