Volunteers in Orange, Bathurst and Dubbo work to address the rural suicide crisis, mental health issues, harmful addictions as well as domestic and family violence.
Lifeline Central West executive director Alex Ferguson said the program would give local businesses the chance to make a real impact.
Participating businesses would allow their employees to make small, regular donations to Lifeline Central West through their pre-tax pay.
“This is a very expensive exercise costing about $4200 per crisis supporter. We’re so appreciative of the local businesses already partnering with Lifeline Central West and our cause,” Mr Ferguson said.
“If just 10 employees donated $20 per fortnight, Lifeline Central West would have enough to train a new telephone crisis supporter.”
