Held from June 22 to June 25 at Darling Harbour, Adagio Mills’ managing director Nadine Hulme said it was a chance to meet customers and wholesalers.
“It’s a chance to tell our story, who we are and why we’re doing it,” she said.
“We can connect with people on social media but nothing replaces face-to-face contact.”
Mrs Hulme said their thriving online trade was good news for producers.
“We’re trying to enable farmers to value-add to their product,” she said.
“By growing our business, they can grow their business.”
REFLECTIVE MOOD
KEVIN Aurisch specialises in creating reflections.
Mr Aurisch has started Shiny Reflections Custom Detailing, offering cleaning and detailing for cars, bikes, caravans and boats.
Having previously worked for car dealerships, Mr Aurisch said he specialised in restoring paintwork to its factory finish.
“I’m a one-man band at the moment, but I hope to eventually employ people,” he said.
ONE CUP AT A TIME
AFTER seeing more than one billion takeaway coffee cups go to waste, Factory Espresso has taken action.
Customers bringing in their own reusable cups will receive a 50 cent discount.
Factory Espresso owner Ruby Gleeson said the idea was sparked from a customer asking a question after watching ABC’s War on Waste.
Factory Espresso isn’t the first cafe to do it, with a full list available at www.responsiblecafes.org.
