The Outlaws kicked six first quarter goals, on their way to 17-18-120 to 7-6-48 win.
Outlaws co-coach Matt Archer said his team came out “pretty strong” in the opening quarter.
“In the second quarter we wasted a few chances. Three out on the full kicks. We panicked and we made it a bit harder for ourselves,” he said.
“The third quarter was still a bit of stalemate but in the fourth we ran over them.”
Both Kaleb Crowhurst and Tim Hunter kicked five goals for the Outlaws and Archer said both forwards offer something different.
“Timmy is a contested marker, while Kaleb is a little forward. Our other forward, Cam Richards, didn’t affect the game too much, but he was drawing players away from Timmy,” Archer said.
“We still haven’t played our best football and when we do, its really good. We still need to work on our delivery and composure.”
On Saturday, June 3, Outlaws will come up against a very different Cowra Blues outfit from last year.
The defending premiers are yet to win a game after four games and have a woeful percentage – 26.52.
“We’re not going in assuming we’ll get the win,” Archer said.
“We’ll just treat it like any other game.”
The Outlaws currently top the ladder with 16 points, equal with club rivals Rebels.
A superior percentage keeps Outlaws in first place.
