However, Marley Andrews, 25, of Shepherd Road, Spring Creek had already served time in custody on remand while awaiting sentencing.
He was represented in court by solicitor Nidal Abdi who said Andrews had been in custody since February 27, when he was arrested for breaching his bail.
He was sentenced to nine months’ jail with three months’ non-parole in Orange Local Court on Tuesday for the credit card crimes after he spent $325.80 in five purchases using paywave.
Andrews was eligible for release on Tuesday because his sentences were backdated to the date of his arrest in February.
Andrews was sentenced in Orange Local Court on Tuesday for six charges of using a stolen credit card between 2.27am and 7.24am on August 9, 2016.
He was also placed on an 18-month good behaviour bond and disqualified from driving for two years for driving while disqualified on August 9, 2016.
Andrews was caught driving while disqualified after CCTV footage gathered by police during the credit card investigation showed him driving at some of the service stations where the credit card was used.
The credit card was in a bag that was stolen from a ute that had been parked in a shed at Evans Plains at 7.30pm on August 8, 2016.
However, at 7.30am on August 9, 2016, the owner discovered a bag containing credit cards, a wallet, an iPad and business paperwork.
Police reviewed CCTV footage at locations where the stolen credit card was used and Andrews was seen at each location making purchases in the company of a woman.
However, at 2.27am he was seen buying $29.15 worth of food from a fast food outlet in Bathurst.
At 2.33am he spent $93.09 on cigarettes, petrol and other items at a Bathurst petrol station.
He spent $35.99 on cigarettes and light globes from another petrol station at Kelso at 2.47am then at 2.55am bought cigarettes and a mobile recharge card at another Kelso petrol Station.
Andrews bought more cigarettes and a phone card from another service station in Bathurst at 3.16am.
He visited two more petrol stations in Orange when at 4.52am he bought items for $73.73 and at 7.24am he spent $70.80.
He was arrested in Blayney on August 25, 2016.
