OPS Shooting Stars vs United: The OPS Shooting Stars showed lovely teamwork against United. The OPS girls are enjoying having had a year together prior to this season, it has helped with their understanding of the game and ability to pass the ball down the court quickly to the goal circle. Poppy and Georgia showed great accuracy with their shooting. All the girls passed the ball with ease and displayed commendable sportsmanship.
OPS Mermaids vs Hawks Rhonda's Hairstyling: Despite a tough game this week, OPS Mermaids showed great teamwork and enthusiasm throughout the game. Each week, the girls are developing their skills and learning more about each position they play. Halle played well in GK, making several intercepts and putting pressure on her opponent. Azahra zipped around the court chasing loose balls and throwing strong passes, while Izzy’s defence was great.

OPS Phoenix vs CYMS Flames: For the first half of the game, there was little between the two teams as both fought hard for possession. However a scoring blitz by Evie, Phoebe & Charli after half time, saw 22 goals put onto our score line. Centre courters Ava, Eloise and Sadie led the assault with strong drives and accurate passing. Our defence end of Claire, Lara and Indi turned defence into attack with numerous intercepts and rebounds.

Fenella delivered the only goal and worked hard at bringing the ball into the circle. Jade played a strong quarter as centre and delivered good passes, and Lily showed her versatility in goal defence and goal keeper positions and caught most rebounds from opposition goals.

Round three saw us travel to Forbes, where we saw four seasons in one day. Thanks to all the parents and volunteers who made it such a great day.
Game one: played in torrential rain the team made good meters lead by Rhyan and Annabelle. Addy had an awesome defensive game.
Game two: it started to clear up and Tobie, Addy and Lincoln took the game by the scruff of the neck and scored some great tries.
Game three: by this game we were getting sunburnt and fatigue was playing its part. Ollie scored a length of the field try. George made in roads through the middle part of the field and this opened it up for Alannah to score a well deserved try.
Westruss players’ player: Tobie Honeysett
John Nunn Building best and fairest: Alannah Bryan

The 1870 Orange City under 9s were met by a rainy start to round three, along with a well-drilled Millthorpe Mozzies side which came out with a sting in their tail from the kick off.
Caleb Anthony met the challenge, working hard in the backs as did Emerson Page who ran strongly all day.
Austin Dews competed well at the breakdown, stealing a lot of the Mozzies’ ball, but to no avail.
James Ashton was the only one to cross the try line for the cubs, going down to the neighbouring side five tries to one.
In the second match, the skies cleared which sparked the cubs into action against the Cowra Eagles.
Throwing the ball around saw the cubs score five tries to Cowra’s three, a double to Bryn Whittaker and Edward Ashton and Archie Adamson crossing for his first try.
Special mention to Mortimer Hamling who intercepted a stray Eagles pass to make strong yardage up the sideline, just falling short.
Our third match up was a very physical affair against a pumped up home side, the Platypi were rolling the ball down the middle with Archie Buesnel and Levi Cheney defending well.
Cooper Honeysett took on some of the biggest players in the forward pack in a bid to repel the onslaught.
Mitch Duncan and Noah Warren were tireless in attacking the line despite Forbes taking out the match three tries to nil.
The Westruss players’ player went to Levi Cheney and the John Nunn best and fairest was Edward Ashton.

Game one against Emus White got off to a flying start, with quick tries to Brody and Andrew.
Awesome defense from Ben, Zac, and Harry stopped Emus getting over the line. Temana then flew through the Emus defence for another try.

Emus eventually scramble over for two tries then a brilliant run by Hugh saw him scoot over the try line, the final score 4-2 to City.
Game two against Bathurst saw great runs by Darcy Harris, and Jasmine, with Jack powering through the opposition like they were made of fairy floss!
A try to Bathurst was quickly matched by Alex powering over the left corner line, then followed up by Koby with another run to get him over.
Another try to Bathurst, then brilliant tackling by Hayden and Temana stopped them getting over the try line again.
Darcy Hamling then swerved around every Bathurst player and coasted over the try line.
Ben pulled off the save of the day, and then a group team effort saw City over again, the final score 4-2 to City.
Game three against Emus Black was a hard-fought match, with Emus taking the win 5-0.

Orange City Lions 53 def Orange Emus 10
The Woodward Street Quality Meats under 17s played Orange Emus in the local derby at Pride Park.
The Orange City side started well and were on the scoreboard first through Bailey Mannix after forcing a turnover close to Emus’ line.
Good pilfering from Luke Pennisi and good backline play from Will McLean, Nick McDonald, Nick Wald and Sam Ostini lead to James Kudrins scoring a great try soon after.
Emus hit back with two tries to their fullback Cody Ramsey – who has an obscene step – but further tries to Nick Wald, two, and Beau Westcott and four conversions to Will Mclean gave City a half-time lead of 33-10.
The second half saw the Orange City side creating chances through good breaks by Declan Shields, Joe Kay, Josh Jensen and Ollie Dean and eventually City scored through Nick Wald after good phase play by Will Wickham, Logan Mason, Malakai Talanoa and Sam Barton.
Tough exchanges continued and City gained the ascendancy with Josh Baker scoring. Further tries to a flying Ben Winslade and Nick Masling left a fulltime score of 53-10. The game was played tough, but fair, and both sides did their club’s proud with the style of rugby played.
We also thank Gordon players for helping out with running water for the boys prior to their Shute Shield match with Eastern Suburbs.
The Woodward Street Quality Meats under 17s have a bye next week.
