A unique event which gives athletes the chance to receive several days worth of world class coaching before taking to the field in two days of fierce competition, the Australian Junior Classic doesn’t just welcome sides from across the nation.
International sides often come to compete for the title of Classic Champion, and they compete hard, which Stuart’s NSW side found out in the deciding fixture.
The year nine student and her fellow sky blues faced South Africa in the grand final, ultimately losing out 22-9 but, as they had for the entire tournament, acquitting themselves well against their international opposition.
For those playing at home, polocrosse is a cross between polo and lacrosse – as the name of the hybrid sport suggests.
