Police were called at 3.24pm and found a Holden Captiva rolled onto its side.
“It appears the driver has collided with a parked car when heading southbound,” Canobolas Local Area Command Sergeant Phillip Mounce-Stephens said.
Late on Friday evening, police officers were interviewing the driver at Orange hospital, who was in a stable condition with minor injuries.
Anson Street resident Gavin Kilian heard a bang and walked outside to see the car on its side.
“It’s just fortunate there were no kids around when it happened,” Mr Kilian said.
He said cars parked by teachers, students and parents who were at nearby schools created congestion on the road.
“It makes it a bit dangerous for people coming out of driveways, it can be hard to see past cars,” Mr Kilian said.
Fellow resident Denise Ryan said there were around two to three accidents a year that she was aware of on the road.
“The traffic is constant, especially during school hours and as different shifts start and finish at the hospital and the mines,” Mrs Ryan said.
“It’s very busy on school days, it can take 20 minutes to get out of the driveway sometimes.”
The road was re-opened at 4.40pm on Friday.
