From the word go on Friday’s opening day Robinson was dominant, taking control in the practice races and never letting up.
He claimed wins across the board, emerging victorious from all the practice and qualifying races, along with the heats, before sealing the most emphatic of wins in Sunday’s final.
He also finished on the podium in the KA3 Senior Medium Heavy category, finishing third behind eventual winner Matt Waters and second-finisher Nicklaus Lichtenberger.
Robinson was one of two Orange guns to seal wins in the opening round, along with Cody Burcher.
Burcher fought back from a bad start in the final to win the KA3 Junior division.
After dominating the practice sessions and finishing second in heats one, two and three, Burcher started from pole in the final.
He didn’t start well, something he admitted, slipping back through the standings and being forced to work hard to push back the front.
He did so with three laps to go, holding on to claim what he labelled the biggest win of his career so far, one made all the more satisfying being at his home track.
He battled hard with Grenfell’s Thomas Sargent through the preliminary races and their war was expected to be a fierce one in the final. Burcher held him off, with Sargent eventually finishing fifth.
Rhys Smith came up trumps in the Cadet 12 category, fighting off Adrian Haak and Adam Tomsett, who finished second and third respectively.
Lachlan Mineeff was almost as dominant as Robinson in his KA4 Junior Heavy races, never finishing further back than second as he eventually claimed the win from second-finisher Noah Sands and third-placed Dylan Debono.
Pierce Lehane produced a similarly dominant performance in the TaG 125 Light division.
Nicholas Riley finished second there, with Matthew Southwell driving strongly to claim third.
Ryan Tomsett, Jett Cotter and Darcy Boulding were the trifecta, respectively, in the Cadet 9 category, while Zac Crichton was superb in winning the KA4 Junior Light division.
Lachlan Lawson finished second and Paige Raddatz was third, while Kody Garland sealed a win in the KA3 Senior Light category, from Oscar Priest and Lewis Hodgson.
The second round of the NSW Kart Championships is at Tamworth, from July 7-9.
