The community is invited in a celebration of the original 1880s’ Lucknow picnic.
Take your tastebuds on a trip down memory lane with cakes and tarts inspired by the original menu (free of charge) and make old-fashioned lemonade.
Activities will include play traditional games such as quoits, skittles, croquet and hula hooping, create a botanical arbour just as people did at the original picnic and meet 19th century gold miners and gentry from the Lachlan Living History Society.
This will be to the backdrop of music from Orange Regional Conservatorium,
The picnic will be held from 11am to 3pm.
Entry to the mine is $2 (to be paid on the day) and students and pensioners are free.
