The quartet of Jo Ellis-Peck, Hilda Tovey, Carmen King and Sarah Holman are gunning for a gold medal at next week’s World Masters Games in Auckland, New Zealand.

The ‘Nashies’, as they’ve called themselves, will take on the women’s 4x50 metre freestyle relay the games on Thursday, April 27, along with individual events.

“We have been training together for six months, this will be our first international competition,” King enthused.

“We are so excited to be swimming for our country and home town of Orange. We [call ourselves] Nashies because our kids all went to school together at Nashdale and it’s our community, that we love. We’d like to wish all the other athletes from the central west good luck. Auckland here we come.”
