CHIFLEY police are seeking help from the public following after a young man suffered a suspected gunshot wound in Lithgow on Monday.

Police said a 23-year-old man was dropped off at the emergency department of Lithgow Hospital about 5.45pm, suffering what was believed to be a gunshot wound to his abdomen.
He was transferred to Nepean Hospital where he is reported to be in a stable condition.
Police from Chifley Local Area Command are now investigating the circumstances of how the man came to be injured.
Detectives have been unable to formally interview the man due to his injuries, and are appealing to the public for information about the incident.
