Travelling to Dubbo’s No.1 Oval is never an easy proposition, Orange City five-eighth Barton Young said, but he knows just how important a victory over the Kangaroos on Saturday would be for his side.

Few gave Orange City a chance of trumping Cowra last weekend but it did, comfortably, and a second straight win would give the young Lions a “bucketload of confidence”.
“It would, it’d really put a bit of wind in our sails,” Young said.
“It’s never an easy trip to Dubbo though, Roos are always a tough ask over there, so we’re not going in lightly but a win there would be huge for us.
“We’re a young side, we’re a new side by Orange City’s standards and we’re still just trying to gel together so confidence is a big thing for us.”
Young conceded Roos are an “unknown quantity” though, considering they’ve lost a couple of key stars in the off-season.
“We’re not sure who will be coming in there, but they’ll no doubt be quality players,” Young said.
“That does make it a bit easier for us I guess, we don’t worry too much about Dubbo are doing.
“We have really just been focusing on ourselves anyway, looking inward to try and make sure we’re coming together and everyone is moving in the same direction.”
The Lions will be boosted by the return of Sam and Jackson Coote this weekend, they’re expected to play outside centre and fullback respectively, although Young confirmed a number of other will be missing.
“We will have a few out, so I don’t think we’ll confirm our starting XV until Friday or Satuday morning,” Young said.
“The focus will be working through our game plan and making sure everyone is on board with it, knows what we’re doing, regardless of who takes the field.”
Kick off at No.1 Oval is at 3.15pm.
