New franchisee Julie Campbell will open the restaurant in the former Roberts Bakery building in Peisley Street.
Mrs Campbell said between 25 and 35 jobs, including four to six full time positions, would be created.
She said she had already received about 100 applications including from former Myer and Electrolux workers, mums looking to return to work and young people.
Mrs Campbell has run her own business, Mid-West Catering, since 2007 and said she was looking forward to the new challenge.
She said the Orange store would become only the second La Porchetta restaurant in NSW following the Wagga Wagga store which has been in operation for many years.
La Porchetta operated in Summer Street before closing more than 10 years ago.
Mrs Campbell said she had enjoyed eating there.
“We were disappointed when they left,” she said.
“I enjoyed going there. The pizzas were really nice.”
Mrs Campbell said there would be a strong family dining focus for the restaurant which will specialise in serving pizzas, pasta, risotto, meat and fish and salads.
“I am excited, it will be good once it’s up and running,” she said.
Work will start on the site next Monday.
La Porchetta Support Office Recruitment and Operations Manager, Brendan Flanagan said Julie and Shane Campbell had approached them to bring La Porchetta to Orange.
“They had fond memories of good food and dining experiences there and they also wanted to be a part of a successful franchise,” he said.
“They believe that another restaurant opening in Orange is welcome news, especially from an economic development standpoint.”
Mr Flanagan said the company was pleased to be back in Orange.
“La Porchetta regards Orange as one of the premier food regions in Australia,” he said.
Mr Flanagan said La Porchetta restaurants concentrated on casual dining for families, functions and meetings.
“We are still true to our core values of providing great service and outstanding value for money food.
“But our real point of difference is our family friendly environment and our contribution to the community, especially in regional areas,” Mr Flanagan said.
